G.L.O.W: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling

Up until about twenty minutes ago, I had no idea there was a documentary about GLOW: Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, or that it had a KickStarter project that’s ending tomorrow, July 2 at 3:00 PM — a mere 14 hours from now. Currently the project has reached only $26,379 of its $32,787 goal.

GLOW: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling  is the often hilarious, surprisingly touching story of the late-80s, cult-classic show, GLOW: Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.  The film catches up with over twenty-five original “GLOW girls” to uncover the history of this once hugely successful program, and to explore how the show affected the lives of these vibrant, dynamic women.

Here’s the trailer:

My sister and I used to watch this cheesefest of a show every Saturday, mostly so we could make fun of the bad perms, awful fashions and whatever the hell you call this . And also because there’s nothing as entertaining as watching glammed-up ‘80s women trying to beat the shit out of each other.

I pledged $25 as soon as I heard about it. If you were a GLOW fan, please consider chipping in and help spread the word.

Update: In the final hours of the campaign, GLOW fans pulled together and raised the final $5K needed to meet the goal. This project has been successfully funded.
