The world has gone Pumpkin Spice crazy.

I’m on a mis­sion to try as many Pump­kin beers as I can find this year. So far Blue Moon’s is my favorite.

My wife, a friend and I were in Dal­las a cou­ple week­ends ago for a con­cert. The night before the show we went to a bar and my friend who loves any­thing and every­thing pump­kin got some pump­kin beer (I don’t remem­ber the brew­ery). He said it wasn’t the best he’s ever had, but they put brown sugar on the rim of the glass and he drank like 5 of them. I didn’t like it all that much, but he and my wife loved it.

His favorite pump­kin beer is called Pump­kin Porter by a local brew­ery in Ari­zona called Four Peaks. They do a small run in Octo­ber and Novem­ber and he says it’s the best he’s ever had. I don’t know where you are or how far from Phoenix they ship, but it might be worth a try to get some.

Got to try Ship­yard Pump­kin ale, pretty good. There is a local brew­ery in VT that does Hal­loween pumpkin/cinnamon beer that is aces.

The pump­kin rolls sound pretty good. I think what it comes down to is this (this may spark a debate/discussion for another time). I am not really a food per­son (yes, I know, I am a freak, I hear it all the time). I don’t crave things that other peo­ple crave and I don’t enjoy eat­ing like other peo­ple do. That being said, I am a fan of breads and bread-like prod­ucts. I don’t care for nor­mal break­fast foods (eggs, bacon, etc…) but I love cereal and if you make me some muffins and I will eat the whole god­damn pan (don’t test me, I’ve done it). So, yeah, I can totally get behind pump­kin bread-like things. The rest of the stuff you can have.

My wife also loves cook­ing and bak­ing which I always feel bad about because it’s sort of lost on me most of the time, but she does make some kick ass stuff. just last week­end she made an Aqua­man cake for our friends birth­day and a He-Man cake for the pre­mier of part 2 of that Mas­ters of the Uni­verse trilogy.
