This blog is an eclectic combination of geeky interests such as gaming, 80s & 90s pop culture, and obscure things nobody seems to care about but me. As a general rule, if it’s old, vintage, unpopular, or out of style, I’m probably into it.

My world revolves around things like collecting toys, video games (mostly retro or indie), science fiction & fantasy books, comics, movies (especially cult, horror, action & b-movies), TV shows, junk food, board games, and whatever else I’m obsessing over at any given moment.

Why the name “shezcrafti”?

I’ve actually had this handle since 1998. It’s a relic from the golden days of AOL (or “AOHell” as we used to call it back then). I was a junior in high school and I’ve always loved the Beastie Boys. My first pick “ShesCrafty” was already taken, so this alternate spelling has been my online handle, email address, and gamer tag ever since.

Why did you start this blog?

Because I never quite grew up, as I attempted to explain in the first post I ever wrote. I consider it an experiment in nostalgia, as well as a journey of self-discovery.

What do you do for a living?

I’m a Product Manager with a strong background in digital marketing. My day job is working for a large staffing company building apps and focused on talent experience. I also freelance for a handful of clients, building WordPress sites. Between those two jobs and keeping up with this blog, I pretty much live on the Internet.

Why do you spell your name “Jaime” vs. “Jamie” like most other Jamies in the world?

I was actually named after the character of Jaime Sommers, The Bionic Woman. True story. My mom was a huge fan and evidently watched a lot of that show while pregnant with me, which inspired my name.

Do you have any super powers?

Yes. Unfortunately, none of them are terribly useful.

Why don’t you get out much?

I’d like to be able to blame it on work, but the truth is, I am very much a homebody and borderline introvert. I much prefer quiet nights at home just gaming, writing, or watching old movies. I was already “old” before I got old, and I don’t care if that makes me uncool.
