‘Vektropolis’ is what TRON might look like as a FPS.

Get a load of this crazy-looking indie arcade shooter with retrotastic TRON-style 80s graphics:

It’s being developed by French studio Dark Computer Entertainment and will be released for PC on December 21, 2012. In addition to a PC release, it should also be out on Mac in early 2013, with possible PS3, Vita and phone versions to follow.

I can easily see myself spending some quality time with this game over Christmas break this year; perhaps as part of a 1982-themed sci-fi marathon .

It actually puts me more in mind of that old Star Wars arcade game from the 80’s. You remember that one? The one where you had to climb inside the cabinet? Used to love that game. I had no idea what I was doing and it probably looks terrible now but I used to love playing it. That game looks pretty slick though. The perfect balance between retro and modern.

I just had to go look that up; wow! I had no idea that existed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tron_2.0 It does indeed look awesome. Now I’m going to have to hunt down a copy.

Do I remember it? Oh yeah! Star Wars is oen of my main obsessions. Even though the cockpit cabinet cost an extra quarter, it was well worth the experience.
